miles along an open, fairly flat trail. Once we reached the trailhead, we started gaining elevation, gaining 1500 feet over the next 3.3 miles. At the top of the trail we reached Poo Poo Point and stopped for lunch and the chance to watch a couple of paragliders take off. It was an awesome day to just sit and relax and enjoy the view. And a special treat to watch the paragliders! I couldn't help but text pictures back home for my kids to see.
As steep as the climb up to Poo Poo Point was, the hike back down was steep too. This hike was quite a jump in overall elevation from our last hike. In all, we hiked about 8.8 miles roundtrip and gained 1650 feet in cumulative elevation. I went home and crashed!
